[...] If you are part of those who believe we can’t create anymore, just re-arrange or improve things that have already been created, I’d argue that blogging is about re-blogging, re-tweeting and re-sharing stuff in a better way (this bit in italic is the important bit). With all due respect Twitter, I don’t want to “look @Yourpost and be #Binarised by your 140 char. long robotised sentence! http://tru.db/al64 “. Oh don’t laugh, “Like” button, you’re the most misleading contribution tool the “Web 2.0″ has created (cf Guy Bingley’s great article).
Guy,
Great post. I really like how you were able to convey that ratings really don't mean much. Dig your blog.

Hey Guy, really quite interested in this — one thing that really grates me about Facebook is that if I have liked a bit of content, and then change my mind, then I must "un-like" the item! Un-Like? This is different to dislike, because I'm changing my opinion back to neutral... but still, I don't like this at all. Vimeo have a similar "un-heart" thing.. I suppose it's difficult to know what you'd replace this with. I understand the fb user's want for a dislike button — they actually already have this with facebook ads — but it doesn't make sense when you're fostering any kind of online community to give users the ability to actively dislike content that other users are producing.
Anyhow, hope you're well mate
